Thanks so much for rising to the challenge Chris. Sterling work! Here’s the top clutter snaps you sent in:

See I think this looks just “busy”. Things seeem to be in roughly appropriate places. Nice cable and wire work going on though. Someone here’s suggested the addition of one or two plastic bags or bin liners?

Nice table-top work Chris! I love the fruitbowl (?) that’s stacked up with anything else other than fruit. Mine currently has a box of ultrabalm tissues balanced on top. And is that a drum or a saucepan by the fire? The more random the better.

There’s alot going on here isn’t there? I’m in a quandry coz I think rather like my “clutter’s not clutter when it’s in a basket” rule, I wonder if it’s the same with shelves? Now if the shelves fell down…

But who am I to say? One (wo)man’s clutter is another’s tidy. What does everyone else think?

This just in from a young friend in Herefordshire. (I don’t want to reveal his identity in case his Mum rollocks him!)

I am especially liking the below table work. Is that a broom stick? The panda that’s lost the will to live and the fact that the plastic tubs that could be used to tidy stuff up, are so boldly empty.

Some excellent before and after shots here from Jacinta.

I’ll let her talk you through her masterpiece…

In the 'before' shot, some of the clutter includes:
- two books on breastfeeding
- A folder and various papers relating to the Toddler group I help
to run
- CDs
- two party invitations (one of them for R's party, which was ages
 ago)
- various items of mail. Bills mostly
- a few catalogues
- a camera
- the iron
- lots of poster paint
- a pair of binoculars
- a whole box of Yellow Moon catalogues
- lots of pencils
- an empty photo frame
- a commemorative tin from Chuck and Di's wedding containing
magnetic letters
- a roll of toilet paper
- random books
- various pieces of my jewellery, including a broken necklace,
which I've since just thrown away
- a container of marbles
- a plastic foot measuring device for toddler's feet
- lots of bits of P's artwork
- a device for holding hard-boiled eggs while you paint them
- clothes
- a broken cordless phone
- a few forms that needed filling in and returning to P's school.
- toys
- a paint pallette
- old unfinished newspaper crosswords
- crayons
- a torch
- 'how to' craft books
- scrap paper
- balloons
- creams

This isn't an exhaustive list, I just grew tired of recording things.

Thank you for inspiring me to declutter. I wonder how long it will take
to look like the 'before' shot again. I hope a few days at least.
Wow - what a transformation! I love the fact that the iron is buried WAY

out of reach. And I love the sound of the device to hold eggs in order

to paint them. You'll be hunting that out again for easter!!

One Response to “More Clutter!”

  1. Chris Says:

it’s a homemade drum cum place to rest things on…had it years and it has moved all around with me….it is of no use whatsoever!!!! other than a resting place for things that fell off the basket by its side.
And yes it is a fruit bowl, however I dont do fruit it is too healthy…and note the remotes stategically placed by the laptop…the front room with the books doesn’t get used much and the computer there is pretty much redundant too ah well clutter for clutter’s sake I say…wait till I start showing you the sheds…
